Well done Safin!

A well deserved win, the better player on the night, Lleyton just didn't have it but a worthy runner up. He seems like a nice guy in his speech, Congrats!

What do I watch!

Cricket is pretty boring at the moment, but I can't miss a game and by learning how to finally download pictures from my new wiz bang phone I am avoiding becoming hysterical about the tennis.

Touchy Touchy II

Why would a child of 6 years of age get a nickname of Jack, he reckons we are confused, we so are the radio stations in Melbourne. they keep calling him Steve Medcraft, maybe it's a classic case of Sybil. Whatever the case he still goes down as a dodgy footy umpire!!!

C'MON

Great game tonight, Lleyton fully deserved the win, he seems to have matured into a nice player, even though he still has a lot of detractors. Get a Life people, judge him by his current actions not by his past. Early night for a change, thanks Lleyton.

Touchy Touchy!

Seems a certain local councillor isn't too impressed by my opinion of his right wing views, it appears that he has gone running to the local press to get a bit of publicity. I was interviewed today about why I made comments on my blog about is it Steve or Jack possibly showing interest in the PYL. Now I understand that he wouldn't qualify as a youth, but his views about asylum seekers and their detention and treatment therafter fit with the views of the PYL.

The journo was also interested in Mallrats perspective of is it Steve or Jack, may make an interesting read in the locals next week.

Not sure if I ever mentioned this before, is it Steve or Jack, once called me and blasted me for daring to be part of a council who approved building a Library in Broadmeadows, I can remember the call as if it were yesterday, casually driving down the Calder Freeway on the way to work one morning and the call comes thru, those days he called himself Steve he then proceeded to blow tripe out of me for providing the citizens of Broadmeadows and surrounding areas with a new library. No amount of reasoning would quell his anger, in the end, I just gave up reasoning with this extremely irrational person.

I hope the tennis finishes early tonight!

Australia Day 2005

Congrats to Dr Fiona Wood, a well deserved recipent of Australian of the Year. One of the best choices made for the last few years.

This song still evokes emotions, but I wish it would include something about recent history and the success of immigration

I came from the dreamtime from the dusty red soil plains
I am the ancient heart, the keeper of the flame
I stood upon the rocky shore
I watched the tall ships come
For forty thousand years I'd been the first Australian.

I came upon the prison ship bowed down by iron chains.
I cleared the land, endured the lash and waited for the rains.
I'm a settler.
I'm a farmer's wife on a dry and barren run
A convict then a free man I became Australian.

I'm the daughter of a digger who sought the mother lode
The girl became a woman on the long and dusty road
I'm a child of the depression
I saw the good times come
I'm a bushy, I'm a battler
I am Australian

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We share a dream and sing with one voice:
I am, you are, we are Australian
I am, you are, we are Australian.

I'm a teller of stories
I'm a singer of songs
I am Albert Namatjira
I paint the ghostly gums
I am Clancy on his horse
I'm Ned Kelly on the run
I'm the one who waltzed Matilda
I am Australian

I'm the hot wind from the desert
I'm the black soil of the plains
I'm the mountains and the valleys
I'm the drought and flooding rains
I am the rock, I am the sky
The rivers when they run
The spirit of this great land
I am Australian

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We share a dream and sing with one voice:
I am, you are, we are Australian
I am, you are, we are Australian.

Grrrrrr!

I have a parotid gland infection, the pain is excruiciating when I eat, and the last thing I need to do is lose weight.

For bit of a laugh take a look at Darps latest gem the Patriotik Yoof League Web Sight. I reckon that Councillor Steve or is it Jack may be interested. Given his unsympathetic views on refugees etc

Jumping on the Bandwagon

The Labor leadership turmoils continueTillops is the man to lead the party. It doens't really matter that he isn't in caucus, he can do a good job. Well can anyone do worse?????

It's a bad dream, I will wake up soon..................

Some people should really get a life!

What type of person seeks gratification in scouring the local papers to reveal to the greater society the antics of local councillors?

Mallrat seems to have a facination with "Steve or is it Jack today" Medcraft who inturn has a facination with my Xmas Lights, which I have now taken down due to the worrying stalking I experienced.

Oh, this house renewal thing may be catching, I saw a house today that I am in love with take a look at Metricon Homes and click on Broadview. I want this house......... More to follow.........

What will happen next??? Latho's gone!

Everyone has written about it, but the Reno Rescue is still occupying my time so I haven't really had time to.

This has me so depressed, I just don't know what is the right way to go. Rudd is a great guy, I met him during th election campaign and if he ever give up politics he could be a stand up comedian, but that doesn't show through when he puts up his Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister role. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Renovation Rescue!

My former Sister in Law, now my best friend calls me last Monday, "I have found a house I want to buy, I say but you haven't sold your house yet, let alone put it on the market, she says, thats OK, I'll clean it by next week".

The house needed more than cleaning, her neice had nearly burnt down the kitchen a few years back so there was black soot on the ceiling, so that had to be painted over as well as other things. I now officially declare all of these reality DYI shows bullshit, as what it took me a day to acheive it takes them an hour.

I am totally stuffed, blisters on my hands, paint in the hair, I just hope all the work makes the place sell quickly.

Soooooo tired, bye!!!!!!!

Who would you want to be your father?

God I hope Robert Doyle is over 45, I would hate to see a dozen or so mini Doyles running about in a few years time. Perish the thought!

I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived back fromt the beach on Saturday, was a good break, the holiday house now looks like a house with all of the walls up and a lot of the ceiling done as well. If anyone ever wants assistance in installing 5.5 metre lengths of plaster on a ceiling just call on me to help.

Saturday night saw Eddie Everywhere creaming himself being showed on 3 networks at the same time for the Tsunami Concert, personally I was disappointed with the coverage, too much of Eddie and not enough concert, however over 20 million was raised, which is a good thing.

Today saw the Tsumami Cricket game, which Mr nearly 13 was lucky enough to attend, I have got quite a few updates during the day from him, so far he has autographs from Peter Brock, Dave Hughes, Peter Hellier, and at the last call was waiting to get Jason "luv the mullet" Gillespie's autograph. Over 14 million raised which is another good thing.

One bad thing is that Howard will use this as his glorified finale, Mr Lefty sums it up here

On another sad note the death of Campbell McComas was a shock to hear of this morning. Campbell was a great friend to one of my previous colleagues, I emailed Tim today to express my condolences and he replied with a quote made by his wife that "A whole lot of sunshine has left us". Too true.

Back at work now, why couldn't I have won the 20 million in Tattslotto last week, well maybe I have, as I haven't checked my ticket.

Country Internet Sucks

30kb speed on dial up in Seaspray is meaning only the essentials are being conducted on the internet. Weather is mild, kids are feral, sea is vicious. Much plaster has been placed on walls and my friends house is looking like a house. Still 5 days till I hit civiliation, not looking forward to it.
