Well, all is OK, we have just over 12 hours till we fly out and NO PLASTER!!!!!!!!

Spent a majority of the day at the Radiologist getting the bone scan done. It entailed Jarrod being injected with some sort of radioactive dye, then we had to come back 3 hours later and they did the scan. The Radiographer was pretty certain that there was no break, so the Dr's advice was go away and have a great holiday and BE CAREFUL.

If you want to say g'day to me on my travels please email me at anniswan at fastmail dot net dot au

ONE SLEEP TO GO!!!!!!!!!!! (Yeah as if I am going to sleep)

Thursday, March 25, 2004

Yeah Yeah, 2 sleeps, (36 hours) to go till we get on the plane, in the mean time we have to go for bone scans to see if Jarrod has to have his wrist plastered before we go. I take solace from a Bali Traveller that took her 10 year old son to Bali with 2 broken wrists and a broken elbow.

Think Positive ANNI, all will be OK

Today is my first borns 12th birthday, seems like yesterday that he was born. Yeah and as a follow on from Monday, it seems that Jarrods Xray came back showing some sort of abnormality and he may need plaster, we will find out tomorrow.

Work is finished for 5 weeks, I feel so excited. I was singing "Schools out for ever" on the way home. Normally at this time of the year I am getting excited about the start of the footy season. Now I am still excited about it but not so much this year. The Swans take on the Lions this Saturday, which means me having to find a pub in Bali as soon as we get off the plane to watch the game at.

Children are meant to test us, yeah sure! My boy Jarrod is very active, he has ADD, today at school he was playing footy at recess and falls badly on his wrist. School send him home at lunchtime, I get called home from work and spend the afternoon in Dr's surgerys and XRay Practices. Thankfully it looks like no bones are broken, he will just have to take it easy for a few days. The thought of taking a child overseas for a month with an arm in plaster was not my idea of fun!

5 sleeps to go!

I should really think about packing, well I have at least got the 3 suitcases out, packing will come later, in the meantime I just keep on surfing Bali Sites, on e of my favorites is BootsnAll's one-stop Bali Travel Guide.

Today I met my best friend Sue and her mum, who are down in Melbourne for the weekend. We went out to St Kilda, had lunch then strolled around the markets. We then headed in to Federation Square had a look around the NGV and had a nice relaxing girls afternoon. It was such a lovely day, day like these I wish I could have more often.

A Patch of Paradise
Was in the local library yesterday and accidently stumbled upon this book by Gaia Grant. I have just managed to finish it now, riveting reading, I thouroughly recommend it.

7 Sleeps to go!

Thursday, March 18, 2004

This is clever

1. Pick a number between 1 & 9
2. Multiply it by 2
3. add 5
4. Multiply by 50
5. now add 1753 or if you have already had your birthday this year add 1754
6. now subtract the year you were born (eg 1954)
7. you shoud have 3 numbers the first was the number picked & the last 2 are how old you are??

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yeah 39 years old today, how scary!

This story relates to the daughter of a colleague of my sister in law.

She had only been in Japan for a week. She was an exchange student from Latrobe Uni. Her mother is a teacher and the principal of the school got a call from Latrobe yesterday and had to break the news to her mother.

My sister in law suffers from depression and last night she couldn't cope so ended up taking too many sleeping tablets so I had to take her to hospital.

I suppose it make me feel like life can be cut short so easily.

Apparently there was a big car race on in Melbourne today, it holds no interest for me, but don't begrudge others who enjoy wearing earplugs and moving their necks quickly from right to left, zoom zoom!

Heard a really funny take on Telstra moving their call centres to India today

Not happy Jan, everyone in Victoria gets a holiday tomorrow, except for Universities, we have to work tomorrow

OMG 20 sleeps to go till I get to paradise. I am just sooooo excited.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon we went to watch the Swans play a practice game against Nth Melbourne, it was pretty uneventful as we lost, but as they say it was only a practice game. For a bit of a laugh, visit RWO and see a few comments about the game.

Today was an expensive day, I wandered down to Watergardens to pick out a birthday present for myself, Mum bought me a lovely pair of earings, which I will receive on my birthday next Saturday. We then headed off the Footscray to Plaza Duty Free to take a look around, I had previously been there a few years back and they were very cheap. Well this time around they hardly had any stock, very dissappointing. However managed to pick up some sunscreen and Bushmans Insect repellant at reduced prices at Chemistop.

We then on our way home, went past Harvey Norman at Highpoint, I thought I would just pop in and price some Video Cameras, well thanks to a very good salesman, I ended up purchasing a Panasonic Digital Video Camera, got the camera, bag, spare battery, and 5 tapes for $890, I will get the GST back on leaving the country so real cost about $800.00. Twas a bit more than I was intending to spend, but I figure in the long run its better to go digital.

I also went through my trusty bag of stuff I always take to Bali, but rarely use at home, dug out 8 sarongs, which I use instead of a beach towel, they were a tad musty so in the wshing machine they went. So all in all I reckon that I am just about ready to hop on that plane, all of the passports have arrived. We just need to wait 20 more sleeps.

Knocked into my good friends Jodi and Brendan (BOC) at Coles today. BOC is really looking forward to the federal election which could be as early as July. Bring it on Johnny.

Oh yeah I nearly forgot, I also signed up for Foxtel Digital today as well.
