So where the BLOODY HELL are you?
Ok, I realise that advertising is a quirky trade, but the use the slogan "Where the Bloody Hell are you?" as the latest gimmick seems to me to be a bit kitch. This came out on the same day that aspiring PM, never to be, Peter Costello blasted one of his colleagues for reading the standard Citizenship statement that is read out everywhere.
My cynical side thinks that this is all a diversion from the AWB scandal.
We are 600 days out from the next federal election and the politics of fear is alread starting.
Today, I collected for Red Cross Calling in the main street of Sunbury, I did this in conjunction with the Mayor, the other Sunbury Councillor and our local MP. The Local MP, Joanne Duncan, went into a shop and the first reaction she got was, "When are you going to get rid of all these Muslims?" I really wish that the Mayor (a muslim) was with her. She was truely shocked at the sentement expressed as I was, but this just shows how Johnny and Petes campaign is working.

My mate Sean and I got tickets to the Split Enz concert today, Sunbury Ticketek agency is not very busy and we were first in line and scored 3rd row tickets.
I then took a look at the Ticketmaster web site and was surprised to see a banner flagging that they still had U2 tickets on sale, I really wanted to take the kids to see U2 as it's Mr J's birthday on the concert date, so 5 minutes later, I now have 3 tickets to see U2.
Now to eating bread and water for the next month ;-))

Friday night till mid afternoon today saw me at the Hume Councillors Planning Weekend. Very intense, a lot of thinking and contemplating, but at the same time it gave me the opportunity to get to know some of the Councillors I didn't know all that well.
At least I didn't come home to the new of a terrible road carnage this seems to be such a senseless accident that has taken the lives of 6 young people in Mildura. I experienced the loss of 3 young people in 2002 in an horific car accident in Lancefield and can still remember the profound effect it had on all of those involved.

I should comment about RU-486
But on reading a number of blogs tonight, I won't really bother. Suffice to say that I am happy with the vote in the Pariament today. I was listening to Sharman Stone this afternoon on the radio and for a Lib she made good sense with her positive argument.

Those close to me know that my mum has been waiting to have an operation on her spine. The operation was scheduled for tomorrow, unfortunately it's been postponed for 2 weeks. We are greatful that the original wait wasn't the one year as predicted, however to be called the morning before it's scheduled and told it's off is very disheartening for everyone.

I had a little function at home last night, just 40 close friends. Given that the family is a bit busy with a few things at the moment, I was looking at making the affair as easy as possible, so for the first time ever I used a Caterer and I must say that they were fantastic. I opted to just have the food delivered and we sought the assistance of a neighbours daughter to serve it. If you are ever looking for some really good and cheap catering, I would definately recommend Catering on the Move

Broady Boy does well! Eddie Everywhere McGuire is the new CEO of Channel 9. Eddie does hail from Broadmeadows, he is from a very typical working class background. He has a great view of Social Justice that I hope he takes to Channel 9 with him.
